Prayers for you, and all of us that struggle with anxiety. One odd thing that helped me was to view Luther, which showed how difficult it was for him as he struggled with anxiety and depression. It began to click many of the "greats" also struggled, Ignatius of Layloa; Threasa of Avila; Moses; Jeremiah; John of the Cross, Flannery O'Connor; Thomas Merton; and so many more. Their stories, the stories of family, friends, and folks we hear about in the news reminded me: 1. I am not alone. 2. Feelings are not facts, they are a prompt to notice what is around me, truths from Scripture, and that a few close people can help with a "reality check," Is this something most folks would struggle with? Can I make a plan to curb fear of the known/unknown? 3. Time for me to reread Micah Chapter 6. 4. The Communion of saints is real, struggles ARE REAL, also real, countless others lift us up in prayer world wide- annonoanonymously and by name. Also, the stories of faith both in my life, people I know, and all the way back to the Bible show God helps us to become stronger, and people with God given Grace, Peace that even as life is a mess The Creator of All Things will never leave, abandon, or move away from any of us. (Roman's 8 38-39 has hung in my doorway, been on my phone lock screen, and is what I cling to when I get shakey- health scares, new opportunities, when I see the world and wonder how the humans we are a part of are so flawed yet also brilliant and kind. Grace. Grace from God is what I return to. Peace dear one. The deep peace, that which keeps us plodding along, sometimes feeling a heavy fog is about, yet we continue to move a head step by step.
Please pray for wisdom and healing as my kidney failure, ptsd, and uncertainty of what to do to be a full part of the Body of Christ is all a mystery. Life on disability is often a both/and. I am grateful for health care/I also struggle to see how to find value in my life without a paying job, health that unexpectedly makes keeping long term commitments difficult, and like in Autumn instead of gathering to celebrate my Mums 80th birthday, the morning I was to fly to family, I instead begun a week long hospital stay as my kidneys shut down. While I can often find good in the midst of altered life plans,, I long for a partner, enough health stability to volunteer and serve again, and to spend time with family a few thousand miles away. Zoom, chats, email, and phone calls are a blessing, yet I so want time in person with them.
Please help me pray that the good lord should open doors for me and touch someone to help me pay my school fees so that next year I can go to school and bless my work too. After that I will not forget to give you thanks Lord
